Donations - Terms of Use

We have provided some section headers for your convenience, but you should carefully read through these Community Donations Terms (the "Donations Terms") in order to understand your rights and responsibilities, as well as ours. The donations at Tonto are completely voluntary.

1. Donations

1.1. Tonto users have the opportunity to make donations to content creators through our implemented donation system in the app.

1.2. Donations can come from anywhere in the world, but the reception of donations is limited to content creators with accounts registered in the United States.

1.3. Transaction fees vary based on the type of account:

• For individual and company accounts, the fee is 25%.
• For non-profits, political, and religious institutions, the fee is 10%.

1.4. Before redirecting the user to the Stripe web view to set up their account, the user will be prompted to select the type of account.

2. Content Creator Accounts

2.1. Content creators wishing to receive donations must have a valid Tonto account registered in the United States.

2.2. It is the responsibility of the content creator to ensure that their account complies with all applicable laws and regulations in the United States.

2.3. If a content creator changes their region after creating their account in the USA, the donation functionality will be retained.

3. Responsibilities of the Donor User

3.1. By making a donation, the user guarantees that they have the legal right to use the selected payment method.

3.2. Tonto is not responsible for any errors in the information provided by the donor user, including payment information.

4. Prohibitions

4.1. It is not permitted to make donations with illegal, fraudulent, or illicitly sourced funds.

4.2. The use of the app to make donations for the purpose of money laundering or other illicit activities is strictly prohibited.

5. Withdrawals

5.1. Withdrawals are automatically processed every week on Monday. Creators will receive the money in their bank account each Monday.

6. Make Donations - Open Worldwide

6.1. All users can make donations with no regional restrictions.

6.2. Users will receive a receipt by email for their donation.

7. Payment Methods

7.1. For your convenience, we allow you to pay with different payment instruments, such as credit or debit cards.

7.2. By providing a payment instrument, you confirm that you have the necessary authorization to use it.

7.3. We reserve the right to use another payment instrument if the original is no longer available.

7.4. We use Stripe as a payment gateway. You can find more information at stripe.com.

8.  Pre-Authorization Reserve and Payment Errors

8.1. If you pay with a credit or debit card, we may request pre-authorization from the card issuer.

8.2. You will be responsible for any overdraft or other charges that may result from this payment transaction.

9. General Terms

By using the donation system in Tonto, you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree with these terms, please refrain from using the donation system. Remember that tax laws may vary, and we recommend consulting with a tax advisor to understand your rights regarding tax deductions for donations.
